Lucky VPN — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Lucky VPN browser extension ("Lucky VPN", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. It applies to the Lucky VPN extension available on the Chrome Web Store and any related activation pages (such as our license activation page).

What Lucky VPN Does

Lucky VPN is a proxy/VPN extension. When you connect to a server, the extension changes your browser's network settings so that your web traffic is routed through a proxy server in the country you choose, instead of going directly to the internet. This is the extension's core, single purpose.

Information Stored Only On Your Device

The following information is stored locally in your browser (using Chrome's storage API) and is not sent to us or to any third party:

• The server/country you last selected
• The proxy server's login credentials, used only to authenticate your browser to that specific proxy server
• Your free trial start date and license/Pro activation status

This data stays on your device and is removed automatically if you uninstall the extension.

Information Sent to Third Parties

Because Lucky VPN's core function is routing your traffic and verifying that connection, a small number of network requests are necessary for it to work:

• Proxy traffic routing. While connected, your web traffic (the sites you visit) is routed through proxy servers provided by our infrastructure partner, ProxySeller. This is inherent to how any proxy/VPN works — while connected, your traffic passes through that server before reaching its destination.
• License verification (Gumroad). If you purchase and activate Lucky VPN Pro, the license key you enter is sent to Gumroad, Inc. (gumroad.com), our payment and licensing provider, solely to confirm it corresponds to a valid, active purchase. We do not receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Gumroad.
• Connection check (ipify.org). After you select a server, the extension briefly queries a public IP lookup service (ipify.org) to confirm your outgoing IP address actually changed, so it can show you an accurate "Connected" / "Not connected" status. This IP address is used only for that real-time check and is not stored or linked to your identity by us.
• Aggregate usage analytics. When you pick a server, we log which country you connected to (e.g. "US selected 40 times") so we know which countries are in demand. Once, when you first install the extension, we also look up the approximate country and city your real (non-proxied) connection is coming from, so we know where our users are - the underlying IP address itself is never sent to us or stored anywhere, only the resulting country/city name. None of this is tied to your identity, browsing history, or any other personal information.
• Random install identifier. The extension generates a random identifier on your device when it's installed, used only to connect your own analytics events to each other (for example, showing that the install located in one country later picked a specific VPN destination). This identifier is not derived from any personal information, is not a persistent cross-site or advertising identifier, and cannot be used to identify you. Each analytics event also includes the extension's version number and your browser's name and version (e.g. "Chrome 120"), so we can tell which builds and browsers an issue affects - the same kind of information sent to any website you visit as part of a normal page request.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not log or store the websites you visit while connected.
• We do not require an account, email address, or registration to use the free features of the extension.
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Data Retention

Locally stored data (selected server, trial/license status) remains on your device until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser's extension storage. We do not maintain our own server-side database of user accounts or browsing activity.

Children's Privacy

Lucky VPN is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the extension's functionality or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
